Every year we hear the same refrain: the Spring Fling lineup sucks. We all end up having a great time out on Foss Hill, but the fact remains that Spring Fling is everyone's party. Unfortunately, the group that organizes Spring Fling does not represent everybody. It's time we changed that.
We shouldn't let an isolated, self-selecting group of students make decisions that will affect us all... especially when those decisions typically involve over 50,000 of our dollars. We need a change.
As your Senior Class Representative, I will:
- Support immediate reform of the Social Committee.
- Open at least half of the Social Committee membership to election by direct student vote at the beginning of the school year.
- Mandate regular Social Committee communication with students.
- Push for the return of a campus-wide Winter Carnival.
We've worked together to achieve victory. Now, let's work together for change.
